子供たちが小さくても、色々勉強したい。大好きな山根さんの楽曲の歌詞がお題目なら継続できるかな、という超私的な魂胆。

注：歌詞の背景、状況説明は私の勝手な個人的日本語解釈で進めています。講師が日本語が分からないためにどうしても説明が多分に必要だからです。

今回のお題は「IN THE MIRROR」
スピード感のある曲ですよね😊
イントロも短くてすぐ歌詞に入り、車で走ってる！っていう感じがします。
私も車でよく聴きます。
（しかし法定速度を超える勇気がないので、気持ちだけ「スピードを飛ばし」てます）
A先生にまたお願いします。

…OK, more poetic, “No sign to stop us, no need to slow down”
「深夜の高速 滑るように走り」
そうだね、no need toを入れてみたら詩的です。
“Passing under the star-spangled sky.
We’re on our way to the world of love.”
Excellent.
「星がちりばめられた夜空の下をくぐりぬけよう
愛の世界へ向かうんだ」
いいね。
“Life is perfect with you.
And the world is on our side.”
Yeah, poetic.
「君と一緒なら人生は完璧だ
世界は僕らの味方」
うん、歌詞っぽくできてますよ。
He felt as if he was able to make the darkness full of love.
暗闇を愛で満たすこともできる、
というくらい彼らの愛は強かったんです。
“I want to return to those days of us
But we will never find our way back”
「戻りたいんだ
でもあの頃の二人には戻れない」
The above is his recollection.
He misses the days when things were going well.
上の部分までは彼の回想で、
彼女との恋愛がうまくいっていた頃を振り返っています。
“But we can’t see it anymore, we can’t find our way back.”
would be better.
「でもどうやり直したらいいかわからない 戻る道も見つからない」
としてもいいですね。

彼女は手を振って彼を見送っていました

Add maybe “maybe it’s not yet too late?”
「もしここで引き返したら、もし今君を抱きしめたら
まだ遅くはない？」
うん、ここにはmaybeを足した方が良いですね。
“With the wind blowing through the apricot-colored sky,
you and I dreamed of our future.”
“Together forever and ever.”
Excellent, no problem.
「アプリコットカラーの空を吹く風を受けながら
未来を夢見た僕たち
『このままずっと』」
いいねいいね。
“There was never any doubt in our feelings.”…
「俺たちの気持ちに迷いはなかった」…
“We never doubted our feelings”
or
“No doubt between us, our feelings were real”
「互いの気持ちを疑うこともなく」
もしくは
「そう何も疑わず 二人の愛は本物だと」
としたほうが歌詞っぽいです。

「次第にすれ違う俺たち
二人の夢は違う方向へ
出口のない迷路に迷い込んだかのように」…

「二人の夢の行く末は別々の道に」のほうがいいかな。

楽曲はお若い頃と変わりません。
カッコいいサウンドなんですが、時折昭和っぽい歌詞が入っていたりします。
この曲で私がいちばん好きな箇所は
A先生と同じく
ミラーの中の君が

どんな言い回しなら日本語の温度を変えずに表現できるんだろう？
毎回「これでいいんかな、適切なんかな」と課題が山盛り( ﾉД`)。
